The Puzzle of Staying Healthy in Today’s World

Many people today believe that the process of obtaining optimal health is a very complicated puzzle. This concept is driven by the media and in part by the natural health industry itself. If you read just about any current health magazine, you will come to the conclusion that you need every nutrient in huge quantities that is discussed in the magazine. Obtaining and maintaining optimal health is not in my opinion a 1,000 piece puzzle but rather a 4 or 5 piece puzzle. Large pieces, like in a children’s puzzle. I believe that it is really that simple.

The largest piece would be the air we breathe. We want fresh air that is free from pollutants and we want to be conscious of our breathing. They say that breathing properly can reduce anxiety, tension and stress. Breathing correctly can be a simple and powerful habit. Most people use about 20% of their lung capacity, but with practice, they can learn how to tap into their lung’s full potential. Remember to breathe deeply and into the diaphragm. Sending a higher oxygen content to all the cells of the body can bring dramatic changes in general health and mood. Breathing correctly is vital in sustaining the level of oxygen for energy, keeping the correct pH levels in the body and blood, and adequate levels of carbon dioxide for bodily functions. Healthy people make 93% of their energy aerobically (“in the presence of oxygen,”) and inadequate breathing habits can reduce the amount of energy made aerobically to 84%. 70% of the elimination of wastes from the body is through proper breathing.

The next puzzle piece would be water . Clean, toxin-free water that is as close to natural glacial water as possible. This water should be alkaline and electron rich so that it is a natural antioxidant. This water should also be microclustered so as to be better absorbed. Natural glacial water is “wetter” than tap water because the cluster size of the water molecules is less than that of processed commercial water.

The most efficient way to obtain ionized, alkaline, microclustered water is to utilize a water ionizer machine . These machines will properly filter the water, and then concentrate alkaline minerals to help balance the body’s pH. They also break down the large water clusters for better hydration and through the process of electrolysis, create natural antioxidants. This means the H2O is converted into H+ molecules and OH- molecules. Another puzzle piece would be your food. Do your best to eat a diet that is about 80% alkaline and 20% acidic. Remember that eating fresh, organic, live fruits and vegetables is your best approach to receiving an adequate amount of minerals and vitamins from your food. “Remember that your food should be your medicine, and your medicine should be your food.” That quote by Hippocrates, the “Father of Medicine” is still sound advice. And remember to chew your food thoroughly before you swallow, take digestive enzymes with all meals, and don’t drink with your meals. It is best to hydrate 30 minutes in advance of eating and to drink ionized, alkaline mineral water .
